Lynette Wilson grew up on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and is now based in Rome, Italy. She has a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School and began her reporting career in the Deep South. She worked as a daily newspaper reporter in Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida; it was the best education she ever received. She has reported social justice stories from close to all 50 states and beyond as part of the Episcopal News Service.

Lynette received a Ted Scripps Fellowship at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Center for Environmental Journalism in 2017. Her preferred beats are the environment and global migration, but she has worked across beats for two decades.
